I really planned to post more photos from our CA visit, and maybe I'll have time to later, but for now we must focus on our move, which is right around the corner.
We made the decision to move late, late last Tuesday night. Since then, I gave my notice to my work, Lane gave his, we gave Gabriela's notice at daycare, we spent LOTS of time researching different ways to move, had in home estimates, made flight arrangements to come out, I ordered Gabriela's medical record, canceled our utility and cable services, we emptied out our storage unit and canceled that service, researched personal health insurance, and started going through and deciding which things we don't need to move. This is tough. I want to get rid of so many things and Lane wants to keep it all.
We have all but signed a contract with the moving company. We decided that we will pack everything ourselves to save some money. Moving is not cheap, man! It would be cheaper to pack up a moving truck and drive across the country, but not by THAT much. And, while the idea of driving across country is kind of cool, doing so with an almost 2 year old and a 17 foot moving truck and towing a car does not. Most moving trucks only have two bucket seats, so it just wasn't going to work out for us.
This weekend we should get some boxes and start packing things up. Wish us luck!
