Well, I know it isn't officially winter yet, but we've done pretty well on our list.
1. Walk around to admire Halloween decorations in Alameda. (next year I want to go on the night bike tour of the best haunted houses in town. Gabriela will be bigger then).
2. Make a thankful list. You heard all about that already.
3. Decorate pumpkins.
4. Go apple picking
5. Make caramel corn
6. Go to the pumpkin patch
7. Visit with Claire and Natalie
8. See Nana and Papa's new house
9. Make Trick or Treat Bags!
10. Go to Disneyland!
11. Dress up in a Halloween Costume
13. Make pumpkin cheesecake. We gobbled it down without documenting the deliciousness.
14. Make treats for our neighbors.
15. Have a birthday party for Easton.
16. Roast pumpkin seeds. mmm, we made cinnamon and sugar ones with coconut oil.
17. Make butternut squash soup
18. Bake bread - we made sweet potato rolls (twice) and pan de muerto.
19. make pumpkin muffins. lots of them.
20. make leaf prints.
21. Drink apple cider -mmm, we had apple cider pressed by Uncle Nate from his apple tree in the backyard!
22. Jump in puddles
23. Donate to the food bank.
24. Attend a fall festival
25. Make a halloween costume
26. Make apple prints
27. Go to Gilroy Gardens
28. See Grandma and Grandpa - We get to see them a lot!
29. Host Fakesgiving Dinner - Sadly, I have no photo documentation of our Fakesgiving Dinner with the Swans. We dined on turkey, my hippie stuffing made a come back, gravy, sweet potato rolls and Kiera brought mashed potatoes, roasted brussells sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, and a quinoa cranberry pistachio dish. Lane made his pumpkin cheesecake and we found out (days later) that the reason our turkey wasn't as cooked as we had hoped was that our oven is 50 degrees cooler than the set temperature. Well, that'll do it.
What didn't we get to??
- bake apple pie
- Go to the Farm (Grandma and Grandpa's place in Paradise)
- Go Camping - unless our trip to the cabin in Inverness counts
- find our way through a corn maze
- Go to the Exploratorium
- Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium
